India, Venice, Klimt and other inspirations

2017 – After a visit to the Gustaf Klimt exhibition and museum in Vienna and seeing his wonderful work ‘in the raw’, reinforced my desire to continue with the use of gold leaf in my images. Hence I used gold leaf in my work of Margaret Priest to empower her memory as the sculptor of ‘Pioneer Woman’ in Kings Park. This was a print that I created on paper made by Chrissie Heughan in Scotland. This paper was created from the vines of Juniper Estate Winery in Margaret River, as I also made prints of Juniper Vineyard history, for an exhibition ‘The Tartan Fleck’. Some of these prints are still available for purchase.

A trip to India for the month of September, inspired by the humble spiritualism, I am still working on the ‘Essence of India’ after having sold the ‘Essence of Venice’ at the 2017 MRROS (resulting from an inspiring trip to Venice with printing workshop).

2018 – Currently I have work in the Vasse Art Award

I feature in the ‘Artists of the Margaret River Region’ book published 2016 (p.128-129)
